- Drag the corners and edges of the selection box, or drag from the middle to move it.
- Pick a fixed ratio like 1:1 or 16:9 if you need one, or leave it free.

Does cropping reduce the quality of the image?
Cropping itself just discards the pixels outside your selection, so what remains is untouched. If you save as JPG or WebP the result is re-encoded, which is a lossy step — keep the quality high, or save as PNG, if you plan to edit the image further.
What are the ratio presets for?
1:1 is the square used by most profile pictures. 16:9 matches video and most screens. 4:5 is the tall format Instagram prefers for feed posts. 4:3 matches older cameras and many print sizes.
Can I crop to an exact pixel size?
Type the width and height you want into the boxes under the preview and the selection will snap to them. If you need a specific output size rather than a specific selection size, crop first and then run the result through the resizer.
